Next Syphon Filter game

I'll start with my thoughts.

There are 2 rumors. One rumor is a new Syphon Filter for PS3 in development by SCE London Studio. The other rumor is a new Syphon Filter game which should be for PS Vita and developed by Bend Studio.

Rumor 1: "Syphon Filter for PS3 by SCE London Studio"
I'm not very sure if they are developing a new SF game.
But if London Studio announces a new Syphon Filter game, it will be for PS3 and it will suck because they have 0 or very less experience in shooter games, even no experience in 3rd Person games (except "Gangs of London" which is trash). They have developed games like "Singstar", etc. And Syphon Filter games from other developers is no real Syphon Filter. So I don't "really" care about that. If they bring a new SF game for PS3, it's nice of course.

Rumor 2: "Syphon Filter for PS Vita by Sony Bend Studio"
I'm sure that Bend Studio have started developing a new Syphon Filter game for PS Vita. They MUST be working for a new SF game. There are so many hints and reasons to think that way. Let me explain... John Garvin said that with Resistance Retribution, they needed a break with Syphon Filter. They had been developing "only" Syphon Filter games for a long time so that is acceptable. Now why did they develope Uncharted Golden Abyss for PS Vita instead of a new Syphon Filter game? I think that Uncharted Golden Abyss extended their break so they can do something different and especially with Uncharted Golden Abyss, they reached 2 very important advantages. The first good advatage is that now Sony Bend became more popular and famous. The second advantage is that with Uncharted Golden Abyss, they have just tried out the PS Vita system. With Uncharted Golden Abyss, they now have more knowledge about the PS Vita system and now they can improove their knowlegde on their next Syphon Filter game. So Syphon Filter becomes better than Uncharted Golden Abyss.


So if Sony Bend Studio developes a new Syphon Filter game for the PS Vita, they will even get more ppl playing their games because now Bend is famous, PS Vita is popular and Syphon Filter is a great game! And there are thousands of people who used to play the old Syphon Filter games on PS1 or PS2 so most of them will surely be interested in a new SF game. + Look at SF-Central there are also over 580 ppl that are waiting for a new SF game and + us about 80 SFC-members and more ppl that lost contact to us!
So now Bend Studio has a perfect Set-Up for a next Syphon Filter game. Let's do this Bend! Don't let us down!

very good uke, in my opinion i think there will be a sequel to LS because it does not confirm Gabe dies so they could continue the story from there

Yes I absolutelly agree with that omni. If Syphon Filter would really end, Bend would have made the end more emotional and more exciting after all they have made so many Syphon Filter games. They can't just make such a short end like that. So that means they must be planning a new SF game.

and LS was released to the common platforms, psp and ps2, but SFCO was released after but not on ps2 as it was specially made for psp so that gives a slight more chance to a new syphon filter sequel, post some new ideas guys...

Ok, backin up a little bit. Has anyone actually played golden abyss? It uses every capability the vita has and stretches it as far as they dare to go. I think uncharted was/is their analog for games coming up in development.

Yeah Rob I've got the game. It is definitely an excellent game and still one of the most visually impressive handheld games ever made but I would not say they've stretched it as far as they can. The vita has a LOT more to give, it's not even been out for a year yet. Anyway regarding the new SF what you said gave me an awesome idea Rob: Gabes daughter grows up to become a deadly mercenary and sets out to avenge her fathers death. I think an SF with a female protagonist would be pretty cool. I'd still miss gabe though

please lets stay on topic , also guys i had some more thoughts SF cant die out yet in such an instant as its been going since the PS1..

I have just seen this article and now I know Sony Bend is also working on a PS4 game. They are probably also working for a vita game which will have multiplayer.

If the next Syphon Filter game comes out for the PS4 I am going to murder someone !

Yea I know, most of us SF ppl love protable games but Bend has enough time to work for a very big Project developing a new Syphon Filter game with many functions and many possibilities for the PS4 (imagine the graphics!!!!). If it's not the case, I will have to murder someone aswell


Ok so far, Bend is working on two projects:

First project [PS VITA]:
Why PS Vita but not PS3? Because Bend never developed games for consoles since Dark Mirror (PSP). Now it has been confirmed that Bend is allowed to develope games also for consoles. But now it's too late to develope games for PS3. So their first project can only be PS Vita.
I remember John Garvin telling me that their Vita project won't be Syphon Filter. And I think it also won't be Uncharted because it's already beeing developed by another developer for PS3.
Well I have no Idea what game they are developing but it must be a title that is very popular.

Second project [PS4]:
Since every Sony studios (including Bend Studio) is working on a PS4 title (this has been confirmed), their next game will definitelly be for PS4.
Hopefully it's a new Syphon Filter game.

Its like one of those things we know will happen eventually, like Bethseda making the elder scrolls 6, or valve making half life 3.

hmm lets look at it at a technical perspective the psp came out in 2005 and SFDM was released a year after that and the in 2007 LS came and then CO, the vita came out in 2011 and so we should expect BEND to be thinking about an SF for the vita in the fall of this year or early 2014 ... but this is only looking at it from a time perspective

nice one rath but i have an insight on the second source, its say SCE london studio will develop SF4 so then what if the mechanics are different and there are no headshot capabilities and the whole graphics change? then it wont be SF

No with the current informations from the official Bend Studio, we can only guess what's coming next.

I don't think Bend's next Vita game is a new SF since John Garvin told me that they aren't working on a new Syphon Filter game. I think they are developing a next Uncharted game for vita. That could be highly possible. (At least it's going to have multiplayer).

For the PS4, I can't tell much so far. Every game could be possible...

If they make the uncharted multiplayer like U3 on the ps3 ill be happy.

Gamescom 2013 starts 21th August. It's very soon! What is Gamescom? It is like an European version of the E3. Games will be announced, informations of games will be given, you can see gameplays of the new games, you can try the games out yourself, etc it's like the E3 just in Europe and still the same level. Even better I think...

But there's good news I want to tell you soon before the Gamescom 2013 begins. I'll make a new topic for it on the Pinboard section.
